Far more than demonstrations alone….

Food and memories are largely linked.   When I think of my favourite times, they often involve taste.

Lunch in Italy; a beautiful villa by the sea.  The most delicious al dente pasta in a light tomato sauce.  Simplicity itself.  And then the peach, the most juicy beautiful white peach.  Sinking my teeth into its flesh, feeling drips of peach juice run down my chin – an exquisite experience and one which no matter how many times I have tried to repeat, has never been the same.

I took another and hid while I savoured every moment.  That memory is so strong, through guilt of being eleven years old and being too shy to ask for another, and through the intense desire of wanting to repeat that delicious experience once more.

Moments, when you taste something and it is so good it can be read by your expression, a taste bud pleasure where this moment is a moment you cannot put into words, not just because your taste buds are fully occupied, but because of the intoxicating enjoyment, illustrate how important it is to find recipes, and to concoct combinations that may bring pleasure every day.

This blog is about just that, not wasting a mouthful, whether in eating home baked crusty bread, chocolate focaccia, simple fish with a buttery sauce, or melt in your mouth fudge, I hope you might use some of these recipes to start creating at home.  And please tell me when you create something totally delicious, I’m all for sharing!

As of now (3) people have had something to say...

wow, you must have spent hours creating these wonderful dishes. I went to Cordon Bleu MANY years ago and you have really excited me into wanting to start again . Thanks for that, Sue.

Dear Victoria, I am dazzled by the variety of recipes you offer, and I can’t wait to try them…one after the other!!! Cullen, or daughter, is as talented as you and I most certainly will introduce her to you (especially since you two are related). She, probably like you, as a child, was always tasting everyone’s plate of goodies and thus developed her lovely creative taste buds.
Thank you for sharing something so special.
Fondly from an “Aunt” Gaby Pilot.

Thank you! I am going to spend tomorrow checking through all the recipes as so many responses means the recipes are being cooked so I must re-check as it is making me feel nervous! I hope I meet Cullen as it would be fun to share recipes!
      Love Vicky x
